Today’s Tip… |
Systems with Intel’s Ivy Bridge, Ivy Town, and Haswell processors (E5 v2/v3 and E7 v2/v3) may experience random system crashes. To assist, Microsoft has release a microcode update for the Intel processors to improve the reliability of Windows Server versions and resolving an issue with Hyper-V on servers that use the Intel Ivy Bridge, Ivy town and Haswell processors.
Currently, this hotfix is provided for Windows 8 (RTM), Windows Server 2012 (RTM), Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2. The hotfix for Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 is expected to be released in September 2014.
