The pace is picking up for year’s Imagine Cup, with Microsoft announcing the 10 finalist teams that will advance to the 11th annual U.S. Imagine Cup Finals Demo Day on May 13 in Silicon Valley. If you’re new to Imagine Cup, it’s the competition Microsoft sponsors each year to encourage students to apply their technical chops to solve some of the world’s toughest problems and, in the process, help set the stage for their future careers. The photo below shows the 12 winning teams from the Imagine Cup 2012 U.S. Finals.
The finalist teams come from universities across the country, and competed in three major categories: Games, Innovation and World Citizenship. The winner of the U.S. Finals – which will be streamed live on the U.S. Imagine Cup Facebook page– will go on to represent the U.S. at the worldwide finals in St. Petersburg, Russia, July 8-11.
For now you can see a summary of the finalist teams and their projects, visit the Imagine Cup website for more information on the competition, and stay tuned via Twitter @MsTechStudent and the official hashtag #ICUSFinals.
