Today, the Windows team offered a first look at Windows 8.1, and one of the many enhancements is a reimagined search experience that’s faster, more fluid and more powerful than ever.
“We think your digital world should be accessible without having to actually ‘go to search,’” writes Bing exec Derrick Connell on the Bing Search Blog. “Just like few people say they are going to ‘go online,’ we want to make ‘searching’ something that’s just there when you need it.”
The Search Charm in Windows 8 already gives you a single place to search apps for answers, letting you, for example, ask your News app for the latest on E3. The Windows 8.1 modern search experience makes it even easier to find what you’re looking for, enabling you to search your own PC, the Web and your apps.
Much like Xbox One, searching within Windows 8.1 is yet another way for you experience the power of our family of devices and services working together as one.
