We’ve noticed an issue in Intune, around how files are shared in OneDrive. The reason for this is that OneDrive has changed how files are made available to FileApp. We’re working on fixing the issue but we’re sharing some details with you in this post, so you can be aware of it.
File sharing with Native Mail App
Users can’t share attachments from the native Mail app to OneDrive via FileApp in Mobile Device Management (MDM) managed devices when OneDrive is managed by Intune App Protection (also known as Mobile Application Management- MAM). Access to MAM managed accounts is currently blocked by OneDrive to avoid data leaks through FileApp. We’re working on a solution for this, but it is dependent in part on an Apple bug fix for the Files app not supporting the managed “Open-In” policy.
File access for MAM managed apps
MAM-managed Office apps like Teams, Yammer that do not have OneDrive directly integrated cannot access files from MAM-managed OneDrive. We’re working on a fix for this, involving an SDK change and changes to the OneDrive app, that we expect to ship later this year.
Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.
