PROBLEM SCENARIO DESCRIPTION

Attempting to uninstall the FIM Synchronization Service Engine via the Programs and Features inside of Control Panel, fails immediately.

ERROR DIALOG

"Microsoft Identity Manager Synchronization Service was not successfully installed.  To install Microsoft Identity Manager Synchronization Service, run this wizard again."

CAUSE:

• The original full bits are not download, or some sort of local corruption

RESOLUTION:

• Download Service Pack 1 Media
• Execute the uninstall via an Administrative Command-Prompt using MSIEXEC
  • MSIEXEC /uninstall <Name of MSI>
