In the second of a six-part special “Garage Series for Office 365” on location from New Orleans, hosts Jeremy Chapman and Amanda Lefebvre give viewers a sneak peek at upcoming Office experiences on the Web across Windows, iOS and Android.

In the video above, they walk you through real-time co-authoring on Word, PowerPoint and Excel Office Web Apps.

Office Web Apps spent a lot of time talking to customers and reading their feedback about what they want from the online Office suite, and found they were eager for real-time co-authoring and more sharing through social networks. Engineers have also worked hard to deliver an experience on tablets and touch devices that’s comparable to what you’d have on the desktop/laptop.

In every way possible, the next release of Office Web Apps will work like the suite you’re used to through the client apps. You’ll see demos in the video of that real-time work on Word, Excel (on a cell level and through instant updates) and PowerPoint.

It’s not available just yet – but be on the lookout for it.

Also check out the video to see New Orleans blues band Remedy Krewe compose a song using their tablets, laptops and phones– all while band members are in different places. They’re able to contribute and collaborate offline and finish when they’re back online. Then listen to the song! (It’s good.)
