The social network Yammer functions a lot like an in-house Facebook for companies, with an intent to make workplace communication easier and better. But what do you do if people you work with aren’t on Yammer yet, and you need to loop them into important discussions and projects?
Well, now they don’t have to miss out, and the Yammer blog talks about these “pending users,” – people who “fell out of the signup funnel, were invited by others but never joined, were added through Active Directory sync but never signed up themselves, and so on.” It’s common for apps to have pending users, but the relationship that active users have with them varies.
Now, active Yammer users can simply mention pending users in their posts, and they’ll receive an email with the contents of the message and an invitation to join Yammer. Hopefully, the pending user becomes an active one, and helps grow your Yammer network – and it’ll make their work communication and collaboration more fluid and effective.
