Movies depend on twists, turns and missed connections to keep suspense and drama running high. But have you ever wondered how those miscommunications and crossed wires that Hollywood screenwriters so love could be quashed if the main characters just used Skype?
Skype’s Stephanie Larson has, and in a particularly entertaining edition of Play Blog today, she writes about 10 blockbuster movies in which “happily ever after” coulda, woulda and shoulda been just a Skype call away.

- “The Shining” (1980): If Jack had caught up with old friends via group chat he could’ve surpassed the worst case of cabin fever – ever.
- The “Harry Potter” franchise (starting in 2001): Using Skype could have provided those owls a much-needed break.
- “Sleepless in Seattle” (1993): With a quick video call, Tom Hanks' and Meg Ryans' characters could have gotten to know each other right away (and saved airfare to New York City and an elevator ride to the top of the Empire State Building).
