Some of you may recall some excellent training that was available to help in your preparation for Office 365 Certification testing that is under the name of Office 365 for SMB Jump Start and is available on TechNet. This training regimen has been updated to the current Office 365 service infrastructure and is NOW AVAILABLE for on-demand viewing.
The updated version is hosted by the same pair of Office 365 experts - Stephen Hall, CEO - District Computers, LLC and Chris Oakman, Chief Infrastructure Officer - Eastridge Technology. As mentioned, this is a new and updated version of their popular course covering Microsoft Office 365. This is designed as a fast-paced and engaging learning experience that will help you get ready for the new and upcoming Microsoft Office 365 exam 74-325 not yet published. Today the associated exam is the 74-324: Administering Office 365 for Small Businesses
The training is available here and It is broken out into the following modules:
01 | Overview & Infrastructure: This module provides an overview of services and offerings along with features and requirements. In addition it also introduces administration and PowerShell capabilities for Office 365.
02 | Office 365 User Management: In this session Chris and Steve go into how to add a new domain and understanding identities. Once these are added user and group addition and management is important, view this session to learn more.
03 | Office 365 Single Sign-On, DirSync & ADFS: What is DirSync and ADFS? Watch this section to understand what these elements are and how to create them.
04 | Administering Lync Online: In this module you will learn how to manage Lync Online as part of Office 365. The instructors will go into details around system requirements, settings and configuration.
05 | Administering SharePoint Online: This section is an overview of what is new in SharePoint 2013 Online with a focus on storage, external sharing, subscription plans and what to consider when deploying this.
06 | Exchange Online Basic Administration: This module focuses on new features, visibility and control, mailboxes, contacts, resources and group management. It also includes mobile device management and troubleshooting connectivity.
07 | Exchange Online Deployment & Migration: Now that you know the basic administration, learn deployment consideration and the various migration options
08 | Exchange Online Security & Protection: Once Exchange Online has been deployed it is key to understand how to protect users against spam, anti-malware. Additionally you will need to know how to manage policy, security, rules, tracing and much more.
09 | Exchange Online Protection, Archiving & Compliance: This final module covers archiving and compliance while ensuring users have the ability to archive their content all while adhering to company policy and compliance requirements.
This is all now hosted on the Microsoft Virtual Academy site. For those not familiar with it, the Microsoft Virtual Academy (MVA) offers online Microsoft training delivered by experts to help technologists continually learn, with hundreds of courses, in 11 different languages. Their mission is to help developers, knowledgeable IT professionals and advanced students learn the latest technology, build their skills, and advance their careers. Note that MVA is free of charge, and the entire service is hosted on Windows Azure.
