It’s easy to encourage people to connect with you on Skype, using website buttons and email links.

As Skype’s Tips & Tricks blog explains, “If you build upon the Web with a site of your own, you can add a button to your site allowing users to contact you on Skype. Even if you’re not a Web designer, you can add Skype links to your email signature with a little know-how.”

The blog gives you a brief step-by-step on how to create a Skype button using the handy (and aptly named) Skype buttons page. The post also offers a good tip for great flexibility on the go: Combining a Skype button on your website with Skype call forwarding.

Or maybe you’d like to have Skype as part of your email signature. As the blog surmises, “Have you ever been on one of those endless email threads that you knew you could sort out in five minutes if you could get everyone on a call? Why not encourage your colleagues to contact you on Skype by adding links to your email signature? These links are called URIs (Uniform Resource Identifiers) and work in much the same way as a link to a website. Instead of opening a website in your browser, though, they open Skype.”

Find out how to add these buttons and links on Skype’s Tips & Tricks blog.
